Restore Yourself At Ballymote

We have thoroughly enjoyed restoring Ballymote with family
belongings from down the generations. We hope your time
with us will prove every bit as ‘restorative’ and that we will
become one of your fond memories.

relax, enjoy, above all make yourself at home

Room to Unwind

Every room at Ballymote has its own special and distinctive character. We don’t do ‘standard’. What you can expect are the highest standards of individuality. Attention to the smallest detail is our starting point. The soap is specially made. The towels are not just fluffy, they are the fluffiest. All the linen is top drawer, with a 300-thread count (which you’re welcome to confirm!). If you prefer sheets to duvets consider it done. Just let us know in advance. And after you’ve sat on the bed, adjourn to a comfy armchair it’s not for decoration, you can actually sit in it. If a cup of tea appeals, we provide 5 different blends to complement the time of day. And don’t worry if a drink is too wet without one, home made biscuits are always to hand. Your choice.

At Ballymote we don’t have ‘guest areas’. The house is yours, offering the unexpected magic of a quiet corner to sit in the sun as it streams through a window, or to admire an arrangement of fresh flowers while you leaf through a magazine. If it sounds totally idyllic, that’s very simply because it is! On a fine day, please do wander around our very special 10 acres of Parkland.

In our Drawing Room, a fragrant fire of turf and wood welcomes guests back from busy exploration. At dusk, feel that sense of complete welcome and well being as we close the shutters, draw the curtains ceiling to floor and invite you to settle down in one of our comfortable antique sofa chairs. Perhaps you would like to start a game of chess or backgammon before dinner? Or browse our selection of newspapers and magazines. And on your way out to dinner, be sure to glance at the unique pictures of our equestrian ancestor, taken from the first book ever produced in England on dressage.
