Horses are central to way of life at Ballymote!!! Bring your horse to stay as well! Whatever your level of skill and interest, from ‘passenger’ to ‘pilot’, lessons, gentle hacks in the forest and full-on gallops can all be arranged in this superb ‘horse country’.
MOURNE TRAIL RIDING CENTRE
This family run centre has been open since 1984. We have a small number of Irish bred horses which we have picked carefully for their temperament and suitability. Our horses are forward thinking and mannerly which gives our clients an enjoyable and fun experience.
TULLYMURRY EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
A lovely local riding school which gives lessons to all ranges of abilities. They have a wonderful cross country course.
DOWNPATRICK RACE COURSE
The first race meeting to be held at Downpatrick was over 300 years ago – 1685 and 200 years at the present location.. Downpatrick has a reputation the friendliest course in Ireland with a strong local following.
